Seed is an auto-biographical puppet piece written in 2024 by Lily Jean Olsen for Rabbitfoot Puppetry’s “Tunnel of Infatuation” cabaret. Written in prose rather than a typical scripted format, this short mini-play was created to help Olsen unpack complicated feelings during an unexpected ectopic pregnancy and following emergency surgery to remove the fetus. As this was an ectopic pregnancy, removal was necessary and Olsen not given a choice in the outcome - perhaps a blessing, perhaps a curse.
